Mala wristwatch in rosewood
Mala is a Sanskrit term, an ancient Indian language. It is a rosary, used in the recitation of mantras and prayers. It usually has 108 grains, but sometimes also 111. The rosewood, as used here, has nothing to do with the rose flower. It is the translation of English Rosewood, into Italian Palissandro. Rosewood is said because when it is cut it releases a scent similar to rose. In the Indian variant it is very dark and very hard, therefore ideal for mala which is used constantly.
