Copper statue of Lama Tsong Khapa
Lama Tsong Khapa (1357-1419) is one of the greatest masters of Tibet, founder of the Gelukpa school, to which all the Dalai Lamas belong. In fact, the first Dalai Lama was a direct disciple of Lama Tsong Khapa. His clarifying contribution of the Buddha's doctrine to the lineages of Tibet is without question. Two Karmapas, the eighth and the ninth, also wrote praises and affirmed that Tsongkhapa was "He who eliminated wrong views".
