Tara or Arya Tara (Jetsun Dolma in Tibetan) is the female aspect of the Buddha. The practice of White Tara helps the practitioner for long life, healing from malattie and overcoming problems. The cult of Tara originated in India in the fifth or sixth century and then spread to China or the name of Guan Ying and Tibet. Tara is called the Mother of all Buddhas, i.e. transcendent wisdom (Prajnaparamita).
