The practice of insight
Author: Mahasi Sayadaw
The great diffusion that Satipatthana meditation has had since the last decades of the last century testifies to the need for a Buddhism completely accessible to the laity, and at the same time reflects the need to really follow the path indicated by the Buddha, without being satisfied with pure intellectual appreciation. It is a method based on the direct perception of one's physical and mental processes, and requires the ability to rely only on oneself. But here too the need arises for a spiritual guide, who confirms the progress made and clarifies the difficulties that may arise during the practice. And the advice of this eminent master will prove truly valuable.
