Smile and wisdom

Author: Piero Verni

A trip. A path that, through the extraordinary story of the XIV Dalai Lama, will make us explore worlds and epochs distant from us. Sometimes, as fascinating as an ancient fairy tale from the East. Authentic pearls of a profound and millenary wisdom. Others, disturbing and even cruel. The plot of the life of Tenzin Gyatso, the most revered Master by women and men of the Tibetan-hi universemalayano, will allow us to penetrate the folds of the history of Asia and, on some occasions, even of the world. Following the human adventure of an authentic "Ocean of Wisdom" we will visit over eighty years of Asian and international history. Accompanied by his words, we will cast a careful look inside and outside of us with him. And finally we will experience the thrill of following a fascinating story that began in a remote village on the edge of the “Roof of the World” which then developed to the top of contemporary thought and its knowledge.

Smile and wisdom - Dalai Lama authorized biography, it's a book  which will fascinate both those who want to deepen their knowledge of the figure of His Holiness, and those who are interested, through the biographical narration of this important exponent of contemporary thought, to also meet the history and culture of Tibet. Also worthy of note is the intense preface by the Dalai Lama.

“When the Nalanda publishing house asked me to write a new edition of mine Dalai Lama biography authorized, initially I thought of a "simple" update of the biographical events of His Holiness, relating to the two decades of the new millennia (the first two were released in 1990 and 1998 respectively). I was wrong. I soon realized that this text had to be radically different from the previous ones given the changed cultural conditions that have made the Dalai Lama today one of the main icons of this historical period.
