Geshe Tenzin Tenphel - Vipassana: the penetrating vision
The term illustrates an analytic meditative state that deeply penetrates the nature, characteristics and functions of the object of meditation.
It is a condition accompanied by mental and physical flexibility that is generated as a result of 'abiding calm' (samatha).
The object of meditation can be ordinary, like impermanence and suffering, or extraordinary, like the ultimate nature of reality.
Geshe Tenzin Tenphel examines all the aspects that lead to the univocal stabilization of the mind on an object and those that allow an intuitive penetration of the higher reality.
