Always keep a joyful mind
Author: Pema Chodron
The lojong teachings contained in this book come from a Tibetan classic entitled "The Root Text on Seven Points" for Chekawa Yeshe Dorje's mind training. These fifty-nine "little phrases" that belong to the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism train the mind and are powerful reminders that help us to awaken our awareness and our heart in every situation of daily life. The basic idea of lojong is to make friends with what we usually reject, with what we consider "bad" in us and in others. At the same time we learn to share what we care about, what we consider "good." Pema Chödrön, who briefly comments and explains each lojong, suggests choosing one at random each morning and behaving in accordance with its meaning throughout the day.
