Bhagavad Gita. Chap. 1-6
Author: Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
The Bhagavad Gita is a fundamental text of wisdom and knowledge, which contains the clearest interpretation of all the teachings of the Upanishads. The six chapters of this edition commented by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in turn form the heart of the whole Bhagavad Gita. In the poem, Lord Krishna himself explains to Arjuna that man is a friend and an enemy to himself at the same time, as he is constantly divided between mind and heart, between a sense of duty and the pursuit of pleasure. Yoga and meditation are only the means to balance these different tendencies and free oneself from duality, the only source of unhappiness.
